Cleveland

Cleveland?  Why go to school near Cleveland?  Cleveland, and the Northeast Ohio area, is a vibrant center for education, the arts, sports and recreation.  Choosing to attend Gilmour Academy will enable you to have experiences that are not possible elsewhere.

Gilmour Academy offers students the opportunity to participate in the Catalyst Program, a partnership between Gilmour, Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Clinic, and other educational institutions to study science in-depth. Talented music students further their training at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Opportunities in Cleveland are numerous and varied.  In University Circle (named for Case Western Reserve University) is the Natural History Museum, the world-class Cleveland Museum of Art and the incomparable Cleveland Orchestra. Playhouse Square, in downtown Cleveland, is the largest performing arts complex in the United States outside of New York. Cleveland is also home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the city attracts national tours of most popular bands and musicians.

Cleveland also is home to the Browns, Cavaliers and Indians, professional sports teams with storied histories and loyal fans and minor league baseball and hockey.  Numerous colleges and universities field teams in the area.  The annual Cleveland Marathon attracts runners from around the world.

Outdoor recreation locales in the area include the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Cleveland Metroparks.  Winter sports opportunities abound with numerous ski resorts within a short drive (Gilmour’s Ski Club goes to nearby Boston Mills).  When the weather warms up, Cedar Point, regularly voted a top amusement park by roller coaster enthusiasts, opens for the season on Lake Erie.

Another reason to love Cleveland:  it’s easy to get to by air, car, bus, or train.  Hopkins International Airport is a Continental hub.  AmTrak stops downtown, as does Greyhound and the Megabus.  Intersates 80 and 90 connect Cleveland to both coasts and 71 and 77 start travelers on journeys south.

Why go to Gilmour Academy?  It’s a great place to get a top education and have wonderful experiences you’ll remember for a lifetime.

An independent school in the Catholic, Holy Cross tradition, inspiring students Pre-K-12
