Gone But Never Forgotten

This has been a difficult week at Gilmour as we mourn the loss of a true Lancer Legend - Tiho Teisl. In his 45 years as a member of this community, he touched countless lives. Tiho’s was the definition of a life well-lived and his passing has left our community heartbroken.

Tiho is survived by his sons Jim '93, Mike '95 and Steve '00; daughters-in-law Kelly, Jenny and Valerie; and his cherished grandchildren Nicholas, Sophia, Daniel, Elina, Emily and Orli. He was preceded in death by his wife Roe and son Christopher. To read his obituary, click here.

In our grief, we remember all that Tiho did for his family, his students, his fellow teachers, alumni and his many friends in Honduras and we thank God for the gift that he was during his 45 years as a Lancer.

We will celebrate Tiho and his legacy this weekend. His funeral arrangements are as follows.

Wake: Friday at Our Lady Chapel from 3-8 p.m.
Funeral: Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 10 a.m.
Reception: After the funeral at the Lower School

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Honduran Children's Rescue Fund.

We have been flooded with alumni, parents and friends who have shared such beautiful memories of our friend, Tiho. We have set up a special page on our website for those who would like to share their favorite Tiho stories or pictures or to view those that others have submitted.

We were so blessed to have Tiho Teisl as a member of the Gilmour Family for the past 45 years and his legacy - both at Gilmour and in Honduras - will last for generations.
