Two Members of GA Community to Present through Holy Cross Institute

Mark your calendars! Next Thursday, January 20 at 5 p.m.,CT, two members of our community - Dr. Jimmy Menkhaus and Kat Rankin ’20 - will be presenting “Known, Loved and Served: Finding God in Immersion Zeal” through the Holy Cross Institute at St. Edward’s University.

January 20 is the Feast Day of the Congregation of Holy Cross’ founder, Blessed Basil Moreau. In his document, Christian Education, Moreau stated, “Zeal is the great desire to make God known, loved and served and, thus, to bring knowledge of salvation to others.” Using this framework of “known, loved and served,” one can explore the transformative possibilities of immersive service work, which is the focus of Dr. Menkhaus’ newly published book, “Immersion: A Pilgrimage into Service.”

The presentation will draw upon themes from his book and Kat, now a sophomore at the University of Kentucky, will provide the perspective of a student who has participated in immersion service programs.

During this school year, when we are focused on the Holy Cross charism of zeal, it is an honor to have these two members of the Gilmour community sharing their efforts with the greater Holy Cross community. Congratulations to Dr. Menkhaus and Kat! To tune into their presentation, click here.
