Multiple Speech and Debate Team Members Qualify for Nationals
It’s been a great two weeks for the speech and debate team, with seven team members qualifying for the NSDA National Tournament in nine different categories. The National Tournament only allows students to compete in one category, so those who qualified in two have to select the one in which they will compete.
Congratulations to the following students:
Eric Brandt ’21- will compete in Informative Speaking
Grace Gainar ’22 - will compete in Dramatic Interpretation
Gwen Mascha ’21 - will compete in Congressional Debate
Clara Morgan ’22 (also qualified in Program of Oral Interpretation) - will compete in Duo Interpretation with Faith Smolik
Cayla See ’21 (also qualified in Congressional Debate) - will compete in World School Debate
Faith Smolik ’22 (also qualified in Humorous Interpretation) - will compete in Duo Interpretation with Clara Morgan
Jackson Sturtevant ’21 - will compete in World School Debate
Additionally, in only her first year competing, Julia Morgan ’24 qualified as an alternate in Informative Speaking.
