That Makes it Two in a Row

For the second year in a row, Richard Jones '20 has made the Judges’ List and his piano performance won him a spot in the Judges’ Circle of the American Protege International Competition - Romantic Music for Piano. The piece he submitted to the competition’s organizational committee was a Chopin Waltz selection.

His selection to the Judges’ Circle from a large field of competitive applicants earns him the right to play at Carnegie Hall in New York City this spring for the Carnegie Hall Winners Recital.

Richard is particularly grateful to Mr. Matthew P. Figgie '84, who donated to Gilmour the Steinway piano that he practiced and played on and, ultimately, used to submit his piece.

Congratulations, Richard! Those years and years of practice time are certainly paying off!
