GAAPA Road Rally Scavenger Hunt

GAAPA PRESENTS

Rally Start Time and location – 1 p.m. at the GA Lower School Parking Lot

End Time and Finish Line – 4 p.m. at the Winking Lizard parking lot: 1355 SOM Center Rd., Mayfield Heights 44124

The GAAPA Road Rally is intended to be a fun, COVID-safe team event. Each team must have a driver and at least one navigator. The Rally will start at 1 p.m. in the Gilmour Lower School parking lot. The teams will all be given an envelope with a set of written instructions. The cars will line up and be released to start at two-minute intervals. The start time for each car is recorded so there is no advantage to being released first or early.

Each team will drive the course following the written instructions exactly. There will be questions that the team must answer along the way. Some questions will be able to be answered while the car is moving and some will require the car to park and the participants to get out of the car. Teams should focus on correctly answering questions rather than speed. Elapsed time to the finish line is only a factor in the event that two (2) or more teams tie for the highest number of correct answers. Speed limits must be obeyed and all traffic safety rules must be followed.

Once the team arrives at the finish line, the answer sheet is turned in and the event planners will tabulate the results. Each team will be given a score based on the number of correct answers, the elapsed time and the mileage. Elapsed time and mileage are used for tie-breaking purposes only. Prizes will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams.

After the Rally, we will gather at the Winking Lizard for dinner and celebration. Everyone is responsible for their purchases at the restaurant.

There is no fee for this event.

All teams are required to register for the Road Rally.
