Mathematics

  • Pre-Algebra

This course weaves together applied arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis in order to prepare students for high school level mathematics. The focus of the course is computational fluency using rational numbers, solving equations and inequalities and proportional reasoning.  Other topics include Pythagorean theorem, and finding the slope of a line.
  • Algebra 1

This course emphasizes strengthening students' critical thinking and reasoning skills. The content of this course includes linear and quadratic functions, systems of equations & inequalities, fluency in algebraic manipulation, solving techniques, and exponential functions.
  • Geometry

Students in this course analyze characteristics and properties of two- and three- dimensional geometric shapes, develop mathematical arguments about a variety of geometric relationships and describe spatial relationships using coordinate geometry.  Prerequisite: Algebra I
  • Math 7

This course will: develop an understanding of operations with rational numbers and working with expressions and linear equations; develop an understanding of and applying proportional relationships; solving problems involving scale drawings and informal geometric constructions, along with two- and three-dimensional shapes to solve problems with area, surface area and volume; draw inferences about population based on samples.
