April 1, 2020
Gilmour has been closely monitoring the current global health crisis as we determine the best course of action for the benefit of our students, families, faculty, staff and alumni.
In light of the uncertainty that the next few months present due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Reunion Weekend.
We know that so many of you have been looking forward to this special weekend and were planning to attend, but with the health and safety of you and our community foremost in our thoughts, this is the right thing to do. Unfortunately, it is clear that asking hundreds of alumni to travel from throughout the U.S. to convene on campus is inconsistent with the information and directives coming from our public health officials.
We are sorry to miss the opportunity to bring our Gilmour family together this year, however, we are excited to reschedule your Reunion for June 4 - 5, 2021 and invite you and your classmates to fully participate in your “Reunion, plus 1.” For this special Double Reunion Weekend, we will utilize a cluster approach, which will bring together the “0s and 5s” and “1s and 6s” Reunion classes. This presents a unique opportunity to reconnect and reminisce with fellow schoolmates and teammates from multiple years. More information will be provided at a later date. If you have already registered for Reunion Weekend 2020, we will be refunding your fees in full.
In the meantime, alumni can stay connected to Gilmour friends and classmates through Gilmour Connect
, our online Gilmour community platform. If you are not currently on the network, registration is easy using your email address or your LinkedIn, Google or Facebook account.
We are also working to develop additional ways to engage our alumni community, so stay tuned. If you have ideas for virtual gatherings or activities, please share them with us as we look forward to fostering community during this challenging time.
All of us at Gilmour send our best wishes for health and safety to you and your family during this extraordinary crisis that is touching every corner of the world. Thank you for your commitment to Gilmour, and for your patience and understanding as we navigate these difficult circumstances.
Stay safe. Be well. Go Lancers!
