Networking Breakfast

O'Rourke Black Box Theater, The Lorraine and Bill Dodero Center for Performing Arts
This month’s speaker will be John Currid, a realtor with 25 years of experience in sales and marketing, entrepreneurship and sales training. John and his wife, Julie, live in Pepper Pike with their two children, Emily ’26 and JAC, a sixth grader at St. Dominic School.

After nearly 20 years in roles such as brand leader, group publisher and sales director in the publishing industry, John was drawn back to his family roots in real estate.

John is a licensed real estate agent with VSD Realty and started FreshCoast Property Management in 2021. A unique aspect of this business model is that the company provides a boutique experience for property investors from portfolio building, rehab and management to selling strategies. With a portfolio ranging from high-end properties to low-income multi-family housing, FreshCoast manages more than 100 units and is on track to exceed 200 by the end of 2024.

John will provide insight into:
  • the current trends in the Cleveland real estate market, specifically investment and rental properties
  • truths and myths on the challenges of “out of state” investors
  • truths and myths on the challenges of Section 8, including the good, the bad and the ugly
  • FAQs from property investors
  • some stories that will make you laugh and others that will make you scream in frustration (including some scary moments and even a hysterical run-in with a 5-pound miniature white dog painted like a Browns helmet!)
