Athletic Program Overview

The Gilmour Academy athletic program consists of 23 varsity teams, including 12 for boys and 11 for girls.  It has two Prep Hockey teams, including the only Girls Prep Hockey team in the state of Ohio.  The program’s total number of teams expands to more than 60 with the inclusion of junior varsity, freshmen and Middle School, intramural sports (Grades 4-6) and K-3 sports teams.  More than 70 percent of Gilmour student-athletes participate in at least one of the sport offerings.

The goal of the Gilmour Academy athletic program is to enable students from Grades 1-12 to develop to their fullest potential, including those who go on to compete in college.  Its objective is to provide a wholesome and friendly rivalry, improve playing skills and good sportsmanship, establish new friendships and build better school relationships.  Gilmour is a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and does not compete under any conference affiliation.  Gilmour is proud not only to abide by the eligibility rules of the OHSAA, but to enforce even stricter academic requirements for its student-athletes than those imposed by the state governing body.
