- Is Gilmour a Catholic school?
Yes, in 1946, nine Brothers of the Congregation of Holy Cross from Notre Dame, Indiana, founded Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills, Ohio. They named their new school for the second Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland, the Right Reverend Richard Gilmour, a champion of Catholic education. Read more

Yes, Gilmour's Financial Aid Program is available for families in a variety of ways: grants, merit and leadership scholarships, restricted and endowed scholarships and work study. Read more
- Is Gilmour Montessori or just the Preschool Program?
The Lower School consists of our Montessori Preschool Program and and Grades 1-6. The Montessori Preschool Program, one of only six in Ohio and the only one in Northeast Ohio to earn the American Montessori Society accreditation, includes a 3 and 4 year-old Pre-Kindergarten Program and a Kindergarten Program. Students from the Montessori Kindergarten will then move on to traditional first grade. Read more

Gilmour does offer transportation to many of the surrounding Cleveland suburbs and in conjunction with a few of the local school districts who drop off students at Gilmour. Read more

Resident students make up about 11% of Gilmour's student body and represent 12 states and five foreign countries. The boarding program is open to students in grades 7-12. Read more
