Academics

At Gilmour Academy, we set high expectations for our students from their first day.  Gilmour Outcomes is our vision for their success.  Our Holy Cross mission provides a balance between a rigorous academic curriculum and our concern for each student’s individual development as creative, spiritual, thoughtful human beings.

From our Montessori Program through Grade 12, teachers strive to design the most engaging learning experiences possible.  Gilmour teachers employ the Holy Cross maxim, “We begin where students are,” and work with each student to build on their strengths and talents.  Along the way, students will be challenged and supported.

Our academic program covers the spectrum from introductory coursework to college-level AP and KAP courses.  Students in all grades and all courses are assisted in becoming self-directed, reflective, responsible learners.  A key component to a Gilmour education is addressing students’ moral development.  In the words of Holy Cross founder, Blessed Father Basil Moreau, “Knowledge itself does not bring about positive values, but positive values do influence knowledge and put it to a good use. If there ever existed a time when this type of education should be an influence in the lives of young people, it is certainly now. . . ."
