This week, the Rebuilding Cleveland class traveled to Rid-All Farm on Kinsman Road in Cleveland. The class learned how an urban farm can become an instrumental part of a city through partnership with local businesses and organizations.

On Friday, September 5, five sophomores interested in either technology, entrepreneurship or rebuilding Cleveland, attended the Industry Digital Summit in downtown Cleveland.
Br. Robert Lavelle, C.S.C. has donated a set of four (4) tickets to the October 11 Notre Dame vs. North Carolina game. Any alum, current or former parent, student or friend who gives a minimum of $250 to the Annual Fund before September 24 will be entered to win the tickets.
All Upper School girls interested in playing softball in the spring are invited to a brief meeting on Wednesday, September 10 at 3:25 p.m. in the Athletic Center Assembly Rooms.
The Rebuilding Cleveland class visited the cultural center of the city: University Circle this past week.
The Varsity Girls Soccer team recorded five shutouts in as many games through September 2, defeating St. Joseph Academy (2-0), Madison (1-0), Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (2-0), Orange (4-0) and Independence (2-0).
Middle and Upper School parents are invited to Meet the Teachers Night on Wednesday, September 10. Registration begins at 6:15 p.m. in the Athletic Center.
Volleyball player Laura Brzozowski '15 who was named the News-Herald Player of the Week last week. And Will Velotta '15 and Connor Lesko '16 were named Players of the Week by the "News-Herald" this week.
We are looking into planning a pilgrimage to Krakow, Poland for World Youth Day in 2016. This invitation is open to Our Lady Chapel Families as well as all Gilmour Families. Recently cleveland.com visited Gilmour to get to know a few of the student-athletes, including: Grant Bent '15 (football), Brendan Cheng '16 (cross country/track & field), Kiley Eble '15 (cheerleading/swimming), Annie Rose Janasek '15 (soccer/lacrosse), Maribelle Moufawad '15 (tennis), Ethan Pawlak '15 (soccer/Baseball), Megan Polak '15 (volleyball) and Courtney Rulison '15 (cross country/track & field).
The first week of September in the Early Beginnings Program, one student found a caterpillar. We captured it and put it in a bug jar so the children could observe its colors and watch it walk around.
You and your "best friend" are invited to Gilmour's Campus Dog Walk on Saturday, September 13. Check-in at Weber Stadium at 9 a.m. Please register by September 10.
Men's Club President John Schenkelberg '71 invites all dads to the Men's Club first general meeting on Thursday, September 11 at 7 p.m. in Tudor House. Special guest for the evening is News Channel Five's Sports Director Andy Baskin.
