arsity Volleyball setter Megan Polak '15 was named to the PrepVolleyball.com First-Team Academic All-American Team.
The Girls Prep Hockey team posted a perfect 4-0 record on February 21-22 with two wins each against Wyoming Seminary and the Buffalo Regals.
Football player Grant Bent '15 was selected as the ESPN Cleveland/Cleveland Clinic Student-Athlete of the Year runner-up.
Boys Prep Hockey defenseman Devon Daniels '16 was selected as a Midwest Prep Hockey League (MPHL) All-League honoree. He was one of only two players at that position to receive the honor, which is voted on by the coaches within the league.
This spring there will be two Middle School sports teams, including boys baseball and girls fastpitch softball. For any student in grades 6, 7 or 8 interested in playing, there will be a mandatory player/parent meeting on Monday, March 2 at 4:45 p.m. in Our Lady Chapel. Each potential player and one of his/her parents are required to attend. There will be a review of rules and an introduction to coaches. Schedules will be handed out as well.
The Speech and Debate team's incredible season continues. At the St. Ignatius High School Tournament, the Gilmour team won the award for overall champions for speech and debate.
Two Lancers are featured book reviewers in the most recent edition of Your Teen Magazine.
The Early Beginnings class celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday this week. They read many of his great stories and made this Cat in the Hat craft! The students are learning about the role of an author and are studying rhyming as found in his books.
This year will be 65 Years of Honoring Gilmour Moms at our Annual Junior-Senior Mother's Luncheon. Save the date for Saturday, April 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Country Club in Pepper Pike. Look for your invitation in the following weeks.
ainbow Run is a 5k color run founded by Kennedy Ricci '13 and Madison Asher '13 in support University Hospital's Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. Kennedy and Madison are hosting a pre-mini fundraiser to benefit the hospital. On Monday, March 9, go into California Pizza Kitchen with this flyer, present it to your server and 20% of the sale will to UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital! Join in the fun this summer!
