Patti Strano is in her sixth season as the head coach of the Gilmour Academy varsity football cheerleading squad and her fifth as an assistant coach of the varsity basketball cheerleading squad. Her 2009-10 team was selected to participate in a competition in the Cleveland National Car Show this past spring. Strano has coached several team members to the next level, including 2008 graduate Janice Flocken who became the first former Lancer squad member to earn a spot on a collegiate team. Flocken is currently cheering at Colgate University. Recent 2010 graduate Katelyn Ferrara earned a spot on the John Carroll University cheer squad.
A lifelong resident of Lyndhurst, Ohio, Strano and her husband of 32 years, Sam, have three sons, Scott, Jonathan and Sammy ’06 who was a seven-year letter winner in the sports of football and baseball at Gilmour. Strano currently works as a part-time front desk coordinator at Michael Christopher Salon. She is an active member of the Gilmour Parent’s Alumni Association and a former member of the Gilmour Women’s Club.

Chris Catanese is in her fifth season as the head coach of the Gilmour Academy varsity basketball cheerleading squad and has also served as an assistant each of those years with the varsity football cheerleading squad. She is an Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) certified coach.
The current resident of Shaker Heights, Ohio, has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo. She and her husband, John, have four sons, Ryan, 21 years and a graduate of Gilmour, Rob, 16 years and a current student at Gilmour, Joey, 14 years and Vinny, 8 years.
