Jami Pomnean '09

Head Junior Varsity Coach/Assistant Varsity Coach
2nd Season (2015-16)

Jami Pomnean may only be in her second year as a coach with the Gilmour Academy girls basketball program, but she is quite familiar with the Lancer coaching philosophy, having played for 11th year head coach Bob Beutel. A 2009 graduate of Gilmour, she was a contributing member to the Lancer squads which went to the district finals in 2008 and the regionals in 2009 – the same year the team went on a 19-1 run to finish the season. Pomnean was a Lancer Award recipient for basketball and also received the school’s Dennis Hoynes Award for being an outstanding scholar athlete.

Pomnean holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and is a project engineer for The Lubrizol Corporation. The longtime Highland Heights, Ohio, native was recently married to Ed Pomnean this past September and currently resides in Mentor.

Allison Herbe '10

Assistant Junior Varsity and Varsity Coach
1st Season (2015-16)

Allison Herbe is in her first year as an assistant coach with the Gilmour Academy girls basketball program, working with both the varsity and junior varsity teams. This year is a homecoming for Herbe, as she returns to her alma mater not only as a coach, but as a 4th grade instructor at the Gilmour Academy Lower School, where she teaches math, science, social studies and language arts.

While a student at Gilmour, Herbe was a four-year starter as a point guard. She was a member of the 2009 district champion and 2010 district runner-up teams. She was named All-Ohio (2010), received the Lancer Award (2010) and was also named most valuable player of the Gilmour Holiday Classic (2009).

Herbe continued her education at the University of Dayton, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education and health sciences.  She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education from UD.

An independent day and boarding school in the Catholic, Holy Cross tradition, inspiring students Pre-K-12
