Commencement Weekend Schedule of Events

  • Friday, May 24 - Graduation rehearsal, 9:30 a.m., meet at Pender Circle
  • Saturday, May 25 - Residence Hall Senior Family Brunch, 10 a.m., Dominican Dining Hall
  • Saturday, May 25 - Baccalaureate Mass, 5 p.m., Gilmour Athletic Center
  • Sunday, May 26 - Commencement, 11 a.m., Gilmour Athletic Center
 
Both the Baccalaureate Mass and the Commencement ceremonies will be livestreamed at gilmour.org/live.

    SATURDAY, APRIL 27 - SUNDAY, APRIL 28
    PROM AND AFTERPROM
       
    Tudor House (Promenade)
    Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (Prom)
    Cleveland State University Recreation Center (AfterProm)
       
    This year’s Junior/Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, April 27.
    Promenade will be at Tudor House. Prom at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. AfterProm at Cleveland State University Recreation Center.
     
    THURSDAY, MAY 2
    SENIORS' LAST DAY OF CLASSES
            
    The last day of classes for seniors is Thursday, May 2.
    FRIDAY, MAY 3
    SENIOR CELEBRATION DAY
            A day to celebrate the Class of 2024!
          
    MAY 6-14
    SENIOR PROJECTS
            
    The Senior Project is once again a requirement for graduation.
     
    Students will need to accumulate 40 hours of work on their Senior Project between May 6-14 and will present their projects between May 15-23. Parents and advisors will be invited to the presentation when students share their Senior Projects.
    FRIDAY, MAY 24
    REHEARSAL (FOR STUDENTS)
    9:30 a.m.   Meet at Pender Circle   
    Seniors must attend the formal graduation rehearsal in their graduation attire (see below for details).
     
    The graduates should be in graduation attire for both the Mass and Commencement exercises. Boys will need a dark suit, white shirt and appropriate tie; girls should wear a white/ivory dress or suit and white/ivory/nude dress shoes or sandals (no flip flops). Shoulders should be covered, necklines should be appropriate and the dresses should be close to knee length.*
     
    *Most girls wear the same dress for both events, often with a wrap for the Baccalaureate Mass.
    SATURDAY, MAY 25
    RESIDENCE HALL SENIOR FAMILY BRUNCH
    10 a.m.   Dominican Dining Hall   Senior resident students and their families will receive an invitation to Brunch. Mr. Brown will be sending out further information about this celebration.
     
    BACCALAUREATE MASS
    5 p.m.   
    Lancer Gymnasium
       
    Tickets are not required for the Baccalaureate Mass and all are welcome. The Mass will also be livestreamed and can be watched at gilmour.org/live.
     
    All graduates will assemble outside the Athletic Center at 4:15 p.m. to line up for the procession.
    SUNDAY, MAY 26
    COMMENCEMENT
    11 a.m.   Lancer Gymnasium   
    Tickets are required for Commencement and each family will be allotted eight tickets. Tickets will be distributed to the students at the graduation rehearsal on May 24.
     
    The ceremony will be livestreamed and can be watched at gilmour.org/live
     
    Graduates will need to arrive on campus by 10 a.m. and the ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Commencement should conclude shortly after noon. For those hoping to make reservations for lunch, we suggest a 1 p.m. start time. The Athletic Center is handicap-accessible and drop-off parking is available.

    Tickets are required for Commencement and each family will be allotted eight tickets. Tickets will be distributed to students at the graduation rehearsal on May 24.

For those families needing hotel accommodations, the Drury Inn & Suites (4100 Orange Place, Orange Village, Ohio) is giving Gilmour families a special rate of $194/night. If interested, you can book your room online or you can call (800) 325-0720 and refer to group number 10095468. Reservations must be made by April 22 to receive the group rate.
