Madeline Levine to Speak

Tuesday, March 11
Noon in the Athletic Center

Madeline Levine, Ph.D.The Pender Speaker Series featuring Madeline Levine, Ph.D. has been rescheduled from earlier this fall. Join us for a lunchtime presentation as a part of “Educating the Heart: A Moral Compass” Speaker Series, sponsored by the family of Michael J. Pender '90.  Dr. Levine, a psychologist with close to 30 years of experience as a clinician, consultant and educator, is a highly sought-after lecturer and author of two New York Times bestsellers – “The Price of Privilege” and “Teach Your Children Well.” Her talk will focus on the theme of “Teach Your Children Well” - society’s current narrow definition of success. In the book, Levine says that today’s measurements of success cause unnecessary stress for students and don’t foster the development of the skills needed for success in the 21st century. Dr. Levine will offer practical, research-based solutions to help parents redefine success and return their families to healthier versions of themselves. RSVP by contacting Megan Schlickmann '90 at (440) 473-8073 or schlickmannm@gilmour.org.
