Admissions Open House Dates for 2007-2008

If you, or perhaps a friend or neighbor, has a child interested in attending Gilmour, please join us for this great opportunity for families to learn more about Gilmour and its extensive academic and extracurricular programs. Whether you are thinking about Gilmour for the fall of 2008 or planning ahead, we hope you will join us.

* The Open House program for Middle and Upper School families (those applying for Grades 7-12) begins promptly at 11:00 a.m. with a panel presentation and a scheduled program, so we ask you to arrive a few minutes before 11:00 a.m. if possible.

* The Open House event for Lower School families (those applying for Montessori Preschool and Traditional Kindergarten through Grade 6) runs from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m., so we suggest you arrive no later than 12:30 PM.

Standardized testing requirements and ISEE Entrance Exam Dates at Gilmour:

Applicants for Grades 7-12 must submit standardized test results. The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) is the preferred test for Gilmour Academy.

• The Secondary School Admission Test) SSAT is also accepted.
• The PSAT is acceptable for Grade 11 applicants; the SAT or ACT is required for Grade 12 applicants.
• International students for whom English is a second language must submit scores from the TOEFL exam in addition to ISEE or SSAT results.

Gilmour Academy administers the ISEE exam on its campus four times throughout the school year on the dates listed below. The ISEE and the SSAT are administered throughout the year at test sites across the United States.

• Saturday, November 3, 2007**
• Saturday, December 8, 2007**
• Saturday, February 2, 2008**
• Saturday, March 1, 2008**

** Pre-Registration for the ISEE is required and is handled directly with the testing agency. You can register on-line at www.iseetest.org; directly through ISEE by mail using the form located between pages 26-27 of the ISEE Student Guide; or by faxing (1-919-682-5775), using the form on page 51 of the ISEE Student Guide; or by calling ISEE (1-800-446-0320).

On the day of testing, check-in is at 8:00 a.m. and testing begins promptly at 8:30 a.m.
