Students in Gilmour's Drama Club learn how to direct, design, choreograph, and perform full-scale dramatic and musical productions under the guidance of an accomplished director. Including one-act plays in the repertoire gives more students in the Middle and Upper Schools a chance to perform. Lower School students perform in their own skits and productions. Year-by-year, the faces and plays may change, but the Gilmour company consistently wins the "Director's Choice" award and "Superior" ratings, the highest given by the Ohio Theater Alliance.

Under the same faculty leadership, Gilmour's extracurricular public speaking
program has won national accolades. Opportunities include Debate Team, Forensics Club, and Mock Trial. Gilmour's Speech and Debate coach has been awarded Double Diamond Coach honors from the National Forensic League.
- Since 1990, Gilmour Academy's Speech and Debate Team has secured the District Championship.
- For six consecutive years, Gilmour's Lancer News placed first in the Radio
and Television Council of Greater Cleveland competition.
- Gilmour's Drama Club has earned a Superior Rating for 13 consecutive
years from the Ohio Theater Alliance.
